America subsidizing abuse of our elderly?
America provides incentives to Filipino nurses to come to America and make money. Often I have seen that the Filipino nurses especially the males are callous, uncaring, and corrupt. They don't give ordered treatments and medicines. They laugh at dumb Americans for giving them these high paying licensed and registered nurse jobs. Additionally they steal from thier employers by using unnecessary overtime. Why can't America train its people for these high paying jobs? In America felons can't be nurses, but we let these foreign workers in with no credible or valid background checks. We don't know what kind of violence or corruption they have experienced in their lives. In the Philipines anyone can be paid off. At least an American with a non-violent record might have compassion for our elderly population who built this country!

You are being very racist. I am a nurse and work with other nurses from all over and have never seen them abusing their clients.

Do you have any empirical data that suggests those of Philippine heritage are more likely to abuse senior citizens? There are good and bad people of every race in every profession. I would suggest you work on improving the system to weed out all bad apples and not stereotype based on race. If you had a bad experience with a person of Philippine descent, that is awful. That doesn't make all Philippines bad nurses.

this is a big blog of racism.. you cant generalize and blame filipinos for this.. if americans are poviding this incentives is because obviously they are in high demand and ..americans are not applying for it.. not every1 is meant/shaped/or has the ability to be a nurse.. I sure hope you are not a nurse .. because with this comment it shows you have no feelings... Every1 comes here to make a living,,, I am not making excuses for the abuse, if that is the case then is something that should be presented to Social services..etc.. but come on ... Really analyze your questions..?
