Actually no...but with 2 caveats. If you graduated from the same school and they have a hospital..eg FEU..as a top graduate they may offer you a position...maybe. Second..St. Lukes, Captital, Medical City, Makati Med..will give you a one year internship, without pay, and with a donation on your part... It's a hard road sorry to say. Better go to a provincial hospital and work for a year...again for free. After that go to Saudi for 2 yrs...
4 :
Out of ten hospitals there is one. Just try,if you are lucky then you will get a job.
5 :
We have a glut of newly registered b=nurses from our Colleges here that if you want to work in a hospital , instead of you being paid , you have to pay the hospital to take you in . Reason ? The hospitals know that nurses who get employment in Philippine Hospitals just want to gain experience , for maybe two years and then they will go abroad to work there for the US Dollars and use the experience they got from the Philippine Hospital to gain foreign employment . So to get employed by a hospital here , either the school you graduated from is the owner of the hospital or your family relations know somebody from the Stockholders of the hospital or you know someone high up in the government or you are Top of the Board Passers. If not , then apply for a flight attendant work in Emirates , Qatar or Cathay Pacific airlines.
6 :
SAD TO SAY there are no private or government hospitals that is hiring newly registered nurses at the moment in the Philippines. In approximate number there are about 100,000 newly registered nurses in the Philippines. And this year alone there are approximate 40,000 graduates that will add to that number. Year in and year out, there are more and more newly graduate nurses in the Philippines which the government are now using the policy of pay for certificate meaning every nurses who is newly registered nurse have to pay the hospital for a fee of Php 10,000 for 11 months for them to be awarded a certificate which they couldn't use either locally or abroad. Because it is completely useless. NOW THE GOVERNMENT is investigating this hospitals that use and abuse these newly registered nurses to be able to charge them with civil and criminal charges. The only problem is that NO NURSE has ever come out and complain about the abuse. SO the only remedy you got is none other than to apply to some jobs which is out of your league or out of your profession like call center or sales staff in a company. If you will wait for this to be straighten out or make it proper you might end up dead in no time. BUT the DOH or the Department of Health secretary is now planning to hire these new registered nurses and fill them in the provinces and providing them a starting salary of 8,000 pesos and a bonus coming from the hospitals they will working on with another 2,000 incentives and allowances. Totalling 10,000 pesos better than nothing I suppose. But these places could be in Mindanao and Visayas area not in Metro Manila.

What does it cost per year to train a student nurse in Manila
What does it cost per year to train a student nurse in Manila?
Are there enough professors left in the speciality to train the students? Are there enough students left to serve the needs of the Philippine people after the UK and others have recruited their experienced personel? Are the professors or trainers adequately rewarded for their expertese and labours?

It depends on what type of nursing. But they dont pay up front per class. they pay per test. I support a student in ozamiz and i pay about 600 dollars a year for her to go to school. And that does not include food or shelter
2 :
Probably around a thousand dollars on the average. Some may be more expensive but should also be near there. This does not include expenses, books, uniforms and other day to day expenses... There are still a lot of good teachers and they are not adequately paid or rewarded. That is the reason a lot of students are studying nursing so that they can move out of the country and earn more.
3 :
$600-1200 i'd say. But it really depends on what kind of school tey are attending. It doesn't include board and lodging of course. if you want to communicate with the school regarding fees then find the schools name and number. here's one of the schools that has affiliates in the US though.

would you choose "birth control" or "death penalty"
would you choose "birth control" or "death penalty" ?
I think our country is going "soft" due to constant CBCP pressure. what if the public and CBCP were allowed to choose one option for a "better society", which one would you choose and why? how about CBCP, what do u think would they choose? lately these reports of gang rapes in the country (one just in Quezon Ave) : http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/nation/metro-manila/09/23/10/woman-abducted-q-av-gang-raped-3-men http://www.gmanews.tv/story/202170/justice-sought-for-raped-health-worker-in-maguindanao the other one, includes a nurse victim raped and beaten left for dead, now half of her body is paralyzed, what help could the CBCP give? your thoughts? @Nesquick - it's called Catholic Bishops Church of the Philippines (Filipinos refer to it simply as the Catholic Church)

It's frustrating to read a question and the asker uses intitials for the most important part of the question. I have no idea what CBCP stands for but you seem to be asking a very interesting question and it frustrates me. Please, explain what CBCP stands for, thank you. :D
2 :
Birth control. It's been statistically proven that the death penalty is not as much of a crime deterrent as people believe it to be. Birth control on the other hand, is a set of preventative methods that are meant to protect sexually active individuals and their partners. It isn't fair to have people choose one or the other because they deal with two very different facets of society. Birth control deals with the sexual and overall health of the general public, while the death penalty is mainly concerned with crime and the just prosecution of those who are convicted of such.
3 :
Both -- Even Jesus wanted to tell us to obey the government laws.. So if both are in Phil. constitution, simply obey them. In real christianity, we don't tolerate evil, and death penalty is one form of not tolerating the evil. Birth - control on the other hand, is an economic strategy to make the distribution of country's wealth feasible..
4 :
both should be implemented as they were thousands of years ago. fortunately for the criminals today that some humanitarian laws of men don't allow cutting of both feet and hands and let them live for the most heinous crime.
5 :
DEATH PENALTY TO THE CBCP.
6 :
Death Penalty. Too many crimes occurring outside my house.
7 :
I believe in both one no family should have a litter of kids they can't feed or the kids teeth are rotting at such a young age. For the death penalty you also need that to keep the criminals from breeding. Your corrupt politicians need to be executed. You steal from me you better hope a cop takes you because I will kill the person who steals from me.
8 :
I would choose Birth-Control.
9 :
How about some semantic change: 1. Birth penalty 2. Death control A word to the wise.

Tomorrow is 1 year anniversary and my husband still
Tomorrow is 1 year anniversary and my husband still?
tapes pictures, photos of his ex wife on my back, lower back and buttucks when we have sex, only doggy style or else I get nothing at all. The ex wife left my new husband with 2 kids and stole most of the family business money before she split. I was an employee at their home office and new the wife pretty well..She was a very nice woman and great looking..they made an odd couple..My husband worked his families business hard and long hours.I left before all this took place...so I feel very sad for my husband, he is half the man he was but I was always atracted to him since day one at the factory. I let him do this out of pitty ,hoping he will gain his spirits up, I know in my heart he still loves her, but I love him and want to please him and nurse him back to health. He cares for me I know, we never ever talk of his ex-but about 7 out of 10 times he takes the manila folder out ,places the photos on me and tapes them..then he starts having sex with me..Is this wrong or Helping? The reason I write is because tonight he started crying after he finished, he said i am ruined, i ruined you and then sobbed. I got scared So i might be hurting him when i thought i was helping. im so confused on what to do next. i never heard a man cry before like that it was nothing i've ever heard before. i love him so much and care for him,all i want is for him to be happy again. he is such a hard worker,honest,.. he is everything to me even though some say he;s average looking even below average. but right away i liked him.i would never interfere with their marriage when i worked there but she was pretty, and outgoing. i i really dont know what to do,if im wrong or right, more time he needs? he fell asleep. he tries, he applied for a new loan but rejected..he is trying to start small but cant get funded, but he lost the fight. i will get him back up and going, but how? i think he will get it out of his system, if economy wasnt bad then the banks wouldve given him the seed money to build again, he has the plans for factory, floors, machinery,he just needs the loan.so we hope econmoy picks up and then i pray he gets the loan, he is just a guy that would stop and say hi while busy, pick you up if stranded, help with any problem you had and still work without ever complainig, he was average guy and really nice smile, a great body(i think) and he is gentle but strong physically, used to be emotionally,no problem was too big for him to handle..he gave up in life and still there are glimpses ,a spark i see when he gets the blue prints and tries another bank, go to private investors, and he never finished high school.. you would all like him right away. i want him to get over what his wife did he doesnt care that she stole for many years, she never cheated on him and to be honest she was nice to me but really was beautifull..she liked me i want him back

I'm not an relationship expert or anything but I wanted to answer. He's not over her yet. This will take some time, and he will get over her. I know this must be painful for you. Honestly I don't know how you can put up with, But this craziness will end, I wish I can say soon, but only time will heal this womb. You are going to have to up your sex game to help heal this womb. Speed up the process with some kinkiness of your own; after all this is your husband now. Let him do his thing, as disrespectful as that may sound, Because eventually he will get over her. But when he finishes his thing, you do your thing to him. Let him know "this isn't for you, this is for me" And you do some freaky stuff to him that turns you on. Masturbate in front of him perform oral on him. Please yourself, in front of him though. You need him to have images of you in his head doing these things. But now that he's your LIFE partner, which means until he cheats or beat you, you are there; You must learn to please yourself in front of him until he comes around. I believe if you do this, it will be sooner than later.
15 :
If it is not a joke Then he is sick to do this to u and even u r sick to allow him doing so. Dont let him do so.
16 :
You are some Woman! I will be blunt,It does sound very ill for your husband to tape photos on your back while he ismaking love to you. Does he stare at the photos or does he say I love you to YOU! Is this a ritual, or what and how did this start? He cares for you but is he in love with you. You might be mixing thing up whats healthy and what's not. Why not try a professional therapist to try and help him? I dont know any Woman that would do what you're doing but Why should I shame you. take him for help, talk it over..both of you.
17 :
Wowza, Thats the most disrespectful thing I have ever heard and that is certainly saying something. This definetly is not true.

How come America did this to a Filipino couple
How come America did this to a Filipino couple...?
There was a married couple from Manila. She was a Major in the Army there and then a Doctor. He was a big shot executive with the Department of Agriculture or something like that. They took all their money and moved to America with three young kids and bought two houses. The U.S. told her she could not be a Doctor here so all she could do was be a nurse instead. The best job he could get was at a dog food company as a supervisor and he made less here than he did there. So why do Filipinos need to lay down here when professionals there are just as good as the ones here?

Standards of education and requirements are very different in the U.S. Some people are disappointed to find that they must either get further education or find an alternate field of employment. There are many people who immigrate to this country and get the education needed to pursue their goals. There are all sorts of programs for legal immigrants, including free classes in English, grants, scholarships and low-cost loans, but it's up to the person to apply themselves. If your example is meant to imply a prejudice against Filipinos, sorry but you've got the wrong number. People from all over the world are a part of our system. Visit any emergency room and you'll find people from the Philippines, China, Japan, Jamaica, England, Africa, Eastern Europe, etc.

Well, foreign doctors NEED to be licensed by the Federal government for them to practice medicine in the US. That involves taking exams.

their jobs in america may not be glamorous but they are still making good money. it's their choice. it wasn't america that shortchanged them.
4 :
there are different medical standards in america than in the Philippines. She would have to go to an american university or some other industrialized country with similar medical standards. plus she was not board certified here. board certification is necessary to become a doctor here.
5 :
lack of education requirements..you have to study there to get the job you want...

First of all, I am sure they told her she would have to go to American College to certify herself here in America to practice medicine and be Doctor here. I am certain that they didn't tell her she would never be a doctor here. She was licensed in another country - all we are doing is protecting ourselves and insuring that she knows the USA way of practicing medicine. It is not a slant against them for coming from Manila. Its a way of making sure that the Doctors here in America have all had to pass the same rigors across the board. As far as his job with a Dog Food Manufacturer, I have no explanation - you see we are in an Economic crunch here in the US, some would even say a recession - why would these people expect not to feel the impact like everyone else here does?

Being from the filipins there is no way a doctor made even 10% of what a doctor does in the states.... The reason I know this is because my sisterinlaw is from the filipins and if you go to a doctor there it is a tiny hut or small building a size of a exstream small house for it being a hospital, while my brother and his wife was back there vesiting her family he got sick and his Dr bill was only 7 dollars, most people are lucky to make 1 to 10 dollars a day much less getting any kind of large pay ck.....mail is ran by bike and cart and most homes dont have lighting or inside running water, sad but true...I also know that if a Dr came over here and was a true Doctor she would get a job and get full pay .....He was a department of Agriculture person with a degree also then he would also beabel to get a good job to, if they own two houses here in the US then they are not doing to bad, better then most of america who has a hard time buying one house.........you're story that you are asking about does not seam true at all.......

The answer is simple... because moving to America is for the future good of their children.. If have a job like them in the philippines and single, I would not trade it for anything else, but because of my children I would rather risk it moving to america than staying in the philippines for there are a lot more opportunities here in the states. In the Philippines life is very difficult and competitive because of the struggling economy. We all know each person is different in its own way..so not all your children will be as lucky and smarter like the Father and the mother. I will definitely do the same thing and take my chances here in the states for i truly love my children and for the better good.

There are certain processes of certification in jobs like that in USA. Usually every state is different, unlike The Philippines. However, It is very true that Filipinos are push down a lot in America. I know a certain Filipina who is accounting graduate from a Philippines University, she speaks perfect English. But in America, where they advertise only for a GED credentials for a bookkeeper, she is declined time after time. Only job she can get is cashier. Americans are afraid and bitter towards outsiders who look better than they do and are smarter and harder working. There is an element of American society that feeds this attitude. I see it day in and day out. I am a patriotic American, retired US Marine, and registered voter but, I gotta tell you, my fellow Americans sometimes embarrass me. The world is changing.

Your question is vague. However, "America" did not pick on the couple, sir, which is what you're implying. In order to practice medicine in the US, , regardless of who you are, you have to take and pass a very difficult board examination and meet other requirements. I assume that she has not taken it yet or simply flunked it--and that's why she is not a practicing American doctor. It is also possible that even if she passed the test, she may simply not have met the other requirements specified. Also, doctors are not in very high demand in the US as nurses, so it's possible she simply thought it easier and more practical to earn nursing credentials. The average nurse in the US earns $70,000-120,000 a year. How many doctors in the Philippines do you know who can earn that salary without owning a massive practice? About the man. I'm not really that impressed with Executive types armed with MBAs, especially those who worked in the government (which may actually be a negative). MBAs are "a dime a dozen" in the US so those credentials earned in the Philippines are not going to open many doors in America, unless he has very specific skill sets that are in great demand but that's unlikely.

I agree with what everyone said but Dr. Pepper. I was reading what he was saying and was interested until it came to the part of going to the Philippines for medical and dental care because it was cheaper. He said he was a retired Marine then how much cheaper than free can you get. If he is retired U.S. Military he gets free medical and dental service.

I don't think most americans have realised how skilled some Filipino's are. The level of education they recieve is actually better in most cases as to what people in the US recieve. Just a shame that there is so much red tape these days that hold certain people back when they could really be helping out the country they are in.
13 :
You would think with that much education they would have the sense to make sure of these things before migrating. I know for a fact that a PI degree does not cover as much ground as an American degree. You can be a nurse in half the time. I worked with many Philippino Doctors in America and all did well. There must have been some lack in her education or an inability to qualify for the test. She may need some remedial training in some basics like math or english. Everyone seems to believe that just going to America will make them rich. There are many hungry people in America today. You have to fight and scratch there too.

By the number of similar responses you may have already read earlier, you must understand by now that the qualifications a foreigner may have to work for certain professions in the U.S. are not always accredited or recognized by many institutions. Many may tell you that the level of education is much lower in foreign countries compared to the curriculum and standards in the U.S. But what if they're wrong and that some foreigners truly are just as good as ones in the U.S as you've mentioned? Then you might consider those particular institutions in the U.S. operate with a preference in employing citizens in professional fields whom attended and paid the high cost of tuition by U.S standards. Although it may have been a loophole in the past whereby students in the U.S. could study in the Philippines thereby paying substantially less for tuition and returning to the U.S. to qualify and become a doctor. This may no longer be applicable as new restrictions may have been implemented to prevent such activity that negatively affected the profitability of educational institutions in the U.S. Hope this helps!

That involves taking exams.

their jobs in america may not be glamorous but they are still making good money. it's their choice. it wasn't america that shortchanged them.

there are different medical standards in america than in the Philippines. She would have to go to an american university or some other industrialized country with similar medical standards. plus she was not board certified here. board certification is necessary to become a doctor here.
5 :
lack of education requirements..you have to study there to get the job you want...

How does a Filipino who worked in Israel for 7-years get a Police Certificate from Israel
How does a Filipino who worked in Israel for 7-years get a Police Certificate from Israel?
My fiance has been authorized by the U.S. Consulate to come to the U.S. However, there is one stipulation - she must obtain a Police Certificate from the Israeli Government. She is a nurse and worked in Israel for 7-years there. She contacted a former employer and even relatives in Israel and no one seems to want to get involved. She does have a close friend of hers who has a relative who is an attorney and is hoping that he might be able to go to the Israeli Consulate in Manila with her to help her on her behalf. If this doesn't work, I am at a loss. Any suggestions?

Surviving Long Distance Relationship
Surviving Long Distance Relationship?
I was searching for the keyword “how to survive gay long distance relationship. I was inspired to write you and tell my story. My name is Yujin and I am from Manila, Philippines. It is lucky that my parents had accepted my sexuality since I officially came out at the age of 19. I am 29 years old now. I had ended my 10 year relationship with another man last year. It should have ended on the 5th year but we tried to fix it. It survived another 5 years but those extra 5 years are becoming more and more difficult for both of us. and so, the relationship ended. After it ended, I had short term relationships.. This has been I guess my way to tell myself that I am “still young and I will be just fine without him (the man I lived with for the last 10 years). But since these were all “rushed It did not work as well. I will be honest that my sexual level was high and I had those new relationship to satisfy the need. Until one day October 19, 2009. I was seen by a guy whom I just added in one of those Social Network sites. He was just there in my profile page but we never get a chance to communicate. The next day, I received a letter from him saying “I saw you walking in front of Gateway Mall…just want to say hello. I replied to him “You could have greeted me then please reach me at (my mobile number). And that afternoon, I received a text message from him. And so we met in my house. lets call him by the name “Merck. Of course since this guy waited for 2 years just for me know that he exists, he was so exited about it (both emotionally and sexually). One the very first time we met, something happened. But according to him he did not do it for lust. He did it to let me know that his waiting has come to an end. He asked if I am still seeing another person and he will understand..he just wants honesty. I told him of course I am free. I do not know if destiny is really playful because when he visited my house for the first time, he received a call from the Employment Agency that his application to The Middle East is approved and he can now start working with his requirements. He is a Registered nurse. I told myself secretly “did he come just to say goodbye?. I pretended happy but of course I was sad..I hate all forms of goodbyes. But I cannot hinder this person of his dream. We dated and courted each other for the next 2 weeks until we official on October 30, 2010. He revealed to me everything. From his childhood, his favorites, family. The challenge that I had with him was he gets jealous..not in an unhealthy way. Its because he does not want to lose me anymore. It was nice and I assured him that “he will be the one. He knows that I am prone to temptation and since he is a Christian, he had asked me to throw all my porn related materials. According to him, if I believe and I truly love him, I will do it because this act is for me anyways. I did that. We enjoyed each other. He sees to it that we meet everyday, we go to church together, spend time quietly. We made plans and schemes and we do our best to survive. We were able to enjoy our “Monthsary, Christmas and New Year. On January 1, 2010..He bought a pair of ring. Though we know that same sex marriage is not yet recognized in the Philippines, a simple moment of vows is good enough. I love this guy. So in love with him that I forgot that time flies. February 17, 2010, we talked and he said that he will leave for Middle East on March 1, 2010. I know that he will have to fly one of these days. I had accepted that situation. But I cant help but to cry and be sad. I have been reading books regarding LDR but how come I feel restless and fearful? He assured me that he will be on vacation every 6 months and he is going to do this for our dream. He even looks forward that he will find me a job there related to my work (I am working in a contact center). My mom is very supportive with me and him and encourages us. He even told my mom that “I am HIS forever. Any advise on how I can survive this sadness?

God bless technology, you will be using a lot of it. Make sure u have an account on skype, and that u have a web cam ... u need to set certain dates and times that u will both commit to in order to talk to each other. is the fort bonifacio global city expensive to live?
I always hear the reputation that only rich people lives there. Totoo po b? Is it true? I'm currently a license vocational nurse in the los angeles area and wanting to buy a 2 bedroom condo in Manila. I have three choices: Makati City, Quezon City and the fort bonifacio. I really would like Makati but its too crowded for me. Anybody been to the fort area? Is it quiet there? Expensive? I have a budget of P15 Million maximum for a 2 bedroom unit with balcony and city views. Is that enough? thanks!

Hi I lived there for over a year and it is an area where generally "rich" people live. Nice area which is close to everything. I would suggest you look at a place called Serendra in The Fort. Hands down best place to live in The Fort. 15 million Php is enough to get what your after but you need to talk to the right people. I am assuming your not a local so they will drive the price up when they see you. My honest opinion though is if you plan to use it as an investment then it is not the best area to buy as the majortiy of it is unoccupied and therefore you will have a hard time renting it out or even selling it. Hope this helps!

my bf has no definite plans for us, is it worth keeping still?
we are having our 5th yr. anniversary come July 28. But he left last September 2009 to apply as a nurse abroad. However, due to difficulties in the application process, he is still in manila and hasn't left the country since then. As far as I remember two years ago, he asked me to convert in the same religion where he affiliated. i was convinced and eventually converted to the same religion he has because he promised me that about a year's time, he would marry me. But until now, it didn't happen yet, and things are getting blurred between us now that we are in a long distance relationship. We haven't seen each other for six months now. I told him that since his application status is not yet stable, he may come home here in the province and spend time with me until the employee calls him, but he declines. I also ask him when could he come home but he always just answer me to not worry because he is coming home. I want a definite time or month but he doesn't say anything. With regard to the wedding plans he promised me, it seemed like it was already forgotten. Just today he texted me that he is planning to study Norwegian language in Manila for 5 months. With this, it implied that he still do not plan to come home while he is still not leaving for abroad. I finally told him that today is the last time he will hear me asking and begging for him to come home, the last time he will hear me talk about marriage and he just answered "okay". When we quarrel through text, i am the one always reaching out.I am already feeling tired, like it's leading us to nowhere and ignored by him. I want to give up and I just feel like I'm blinded with my hope that he will still live up to his words. Plus the distance between us is another factor. Should I keep holding on? Thanks for your answers people.... besides, I feel alone with the new faith he has left me. We are forbidden to cut our hair (mine is already halfway to my knees) and wear pants (only skirts). This is the sacrifice I had for him and i know it's a sin to God that I transferred religion just because of a boyfriend who promised me something and not really because of my faith. I feel so alone.... thank you everyone for your answers...it made me feel good...just this morning I changed my number so he can't contact me maybe like a week to let him feel my distance and absence. I want him to do his things first and never try to nag him about anything. i just can't find the way and the strength to tell him that I need my space already (with all that's been going between us) so maybe just leaving him silently is better, for now. If I have picked myself up already hopefully, I could tell him that he's free from me...Besides, I also plan to continue the new faith i have embraced. It doesn't mean that w/o him, my soul will wander off too. Thank you people for your answers-it truly made me stronger to initiate leaving him. But oh, it still hurts and sleepless nights are not over...wish me luck friends. Take care.

If your goal in a relationship is to eventually get married then you need to end things with him. You're not on the same page. You'll be waiting until he decideds that it's time to end things. Just cut your loses and find someone who wants a future with you.
4 :
Stop holding on! He has consistently thwarted your wishes. What do you think a marriage to this man would be like? Please, go on with your life. Check out my "source" for more info.
5 :
At one point he was marriage minded. He no longer is as his priorities changed to working abroad. If your goal is to get married, then cut your losses with him so you are available for a man (who you love) who is also marriage minded.
6 :
Stop wasting your time. He hasn't "forgotten", he simply doesn't want to. Obviously has his sights on leaving the country and is waiting for you to get tired of it all because he doesn't have the balls to tel you the truth. It's been over. Move on. I'm sure that you are a lovely lady. Do not waste valuable time waiting for someone that has no interest in you. As soon as he sees the opportunity, he will leave you behind with no hesitation. Find a man than values you and has serious intentions, because this buffoon doesn't. Good luck

Sounds nice and all, but where is your part in this? is this ALL your gf's plans? i mean as a couple you should both bring input to eachother what/when to do things. Talk it over i guess.
8 :
In my opinion, he is treating you like a back up. If your boyfriend is avoiding an answer to your questions (when is he coming home, can you give me a date) then chances are he isn't interested in coming home. Or he is with someone over there. I don't know, but what I mean is that when you are in a relationship, it's common sense and decency for the one you love to tell them a date of when they are coming home. He is avoiding pretty much everything with you, and seems to be planning his future without thinking of you or including you. I think you should tell him you want some space to think, see how he reacts (and of course go out and do some thinking of your own). If he doesn't seem to care and you find that you don't want to wait anymore (which personally I wouldn't) then make the breakup official and get your life in order. You never have to bribe a boyfriend to promise to marry you darling. Some man out there someday will be kissing your feet for the chance to marry you. Go look for him.

Norwegian in Manila eh? A language that's being spoken by 5 million Norwegians. I'd be surprised if you can find a Norwegian class in Manila. Even if YOU are Norwegian (which I doubt) I find his behavior highly suspect. He is far from eager to be with you. Forget him and draw your own plans from now on! And forget about that conversion to his belief.
10 :
Your faith is yours you should choose the faith you believe in. In regards to this man, you need to get him face to face, to sit down, and explain what is wrong, he may just be feeling a bit pressurized, or be feeling too dependent, men have a rubber band tendency. He feels he is getting to close, or this is too serious, and perhaps he just needs space, leave him to do what he likes, if he loves you he will come back home. If you don't want to wait and see, then you need to get him face to face and see what the hell his problem is. Clearly he had plans for you, but he has put you and him on hold for him. His career has come in front of you, and to be honest it may always, but that is your choice, if you try to pull him back from his dream job, then he may resent you for it. It all depends on how much you like him, and is he worth it. Clearly you must love him a lot to have changed your faith and have been together nearly 5 years. It sounds he is neglecting you, but he may not realise the extent and you may just be coming accross as being nagging and whining on at him. Try to make him realise why he fell in love with you, go out, have a laugh with some mates, and just forget about him until he is ready to understand why you are getting upset about this. Quarrelling over text is never good, he will remember and texts can be misinterpreted.
11 :
It is time to move on. If you are 'the one' for him, he will figure it out in due time and come running back to you but I don't see that happening. He's stringing you along until he decides what he wants. Just stop talking to him for awhile and see how it goes. Go out and meet people. Feel good about yourself again. Good luck.

Do you think he would eventually marry me
Do you think he would eventually marry me?
my bf for 4 yrs and 3 months went from here in the province to manila philippines to apply as a nurse abroad.tonight he texted me that in 2 month's time,he would probably be leaving but i must work on losing weight so he could come back home before leaving for abroad and get me pregnant.i reacted to this statement that we are not yet married and that if i got pregnant,it would be out of wedlock or out of singleness or to some a disgrace or accident.i told him that having a baby is not the symbol for that and it should be marriage.i asked him if he plans to marry me or is it just the baby he wants.actually for 4 yrs we have been struggling to get pregnant but i wasn't at all.now he said that he doesn't have the money for a wedding yet but come to think of it,having a baby is harder than holding a civil wedding. now i felt hurt that he said he isn't financially stable to be ready to get married yet.besides,he points out that the papers for filing abroad will be changed especially his status and it will take another longer time for him to go abroad.whereas having a child would take 9 months and definitely he is already earning abroad by that time. now, do you think my bf thinks smartly?do i have to be hurt that he won't marry me yet before having a baby?he sends me this message almost everyday that he wants to start a family with me already...what do you guys think?pls answer please please thanks a bunch... anyway, i am in love with this bf of mine and it somehow pleases me that he is already planning things for us.... we are really financially lacking and he is doing things like leaving to work for abroad to earn and start a life.he is a nurse and he knows that weight affects fertility and i am already overweight for my age and height. thanks for the answers anyway. he also do not want to get married yet because i am still in my college.just today as an update, we have come to agree that i'll finish my school first and he will be financing me before settling down and having a baby. thanks anyways...

It sounds like neither of you have life together enough to plan a wedding or having a child. He is leaving the country and tells you to work on losing weight....whats that all about? I would wait and see how things work out before planning either event. If he was that interested in planning a life with you then why is he leaving the country? Too many questions, not enough answers......I would wait.
2 :
He wants you to lose weight first? He's a jerk. Let this one stay single and you find yourself a man that loves you the way you are and who you don't have to beg to marry you.
3 :
we really are not living in a traditional world anymore dont worry what other people think live your own life and make yourself happy, the only thing i am concerned about is the comment about your weight if its for health reasons ok but if its something else he needs to learn to accept you if you are going to make a lifelong decision like having a baby
4 :
I don't get it - you've been "struggling for 4 years to get pregnant", but when he mentions trying again in a few months, you freak out over the "shame" of it all? You need to decide where you stand on the issue. Either a child out of wedlock is something you want or something you don't want - make up your mind. And we all know that weight affects fertility, so what he said wasn't totally out of line. I assume you're not obese and that's when your fertility becomes an issue, but maybe he's misinformed and thinks that 10 or 15 extra pounds is a problem. As for whether or not he'll marry you, a baby is no guarantee of a wedding.
5 :
We as women should know one thing, If we have to ask question like this we already know the answer we just don't like the conclusion we have come to.

Did u know that 2,200 Filipino nurses are needed in Belgium
Did u know that 2,200 Filipino nurses are needed in Belgium?
I just received word from a friend in Belgium that 2 - yes only 2 - Filipino nurses - one man and a woman - just started to work at a hospital in Antwerp. According to the media, there are thousands of nurses needed over the entire Belgian territory. These two have given a very good impression and now the country is seeking more Filipino nurses. Spread the word. The Belgian embassy in Manila will be happy to assist u with a visa : http://www.diplomatie.be/Manila/ Yes, within two years immigrants have to learn Dutch or French once in Belgium but classes are free and widely available. The visa is good for all EU countries.

That would be great if that is true.
2 :
Most countries are short nurses. Australia is critically short of nurses. Canada is critically short of nurses. The u.s is critically short. Britain is short of nurses. Belgium is look for well trained medical staff that can also speak the language. Like most western countries, Belgium is not looking for any joe off the street - they are looking for quality staff. If you want to 'spread the word' - also say that the staff need to be well trained.
3 :
That's nice of you to think others but you also forgot to mention that Belgium has three official languages used: Dutch (official) 60%, French (official) 40%, German (official) less than 1%, legally bilingual (Dutch and French). Probably that's the reason why you won't see a lot of Filipino nurses working in Belgium because of the language difficulty from reading, writing and speaking.
4 :
I don`t think Belgium is looking for nurses who are specifically Filipino. A lot of other countries have nursing shortages too. It`s just that the language difference makes it harder for Belgium to attract foreign nurses.

Clinton had been in office 38 days when terrorists bombed the WTC ,his res ponce, he warned Americans against "overreacting" and in an MTV interview he described the bombing as the work of someone who "did something really stupid". The last act of terrorism came on 10-12-2000. USS Cole,17 American sailors were killed 39 others were wounded, Clinton's mouth came out strong "We will find out who was responsible and hold them accountable" although he most likely would have had solid public support for strong military action,HE DID NOTHING! Defend that libs, defend a direct attack against our navy and the killing of US sailors and Clinton did NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!! He tried, he tried, HE LIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Should the U.S. govt. limit family based chain migration to spouse and minor children
Should the U.S. govt. limit family based chain migration to spouse and minor children?
Families separated by miles, years and immigration laws Immigration rules for close relatives to be re-examined By Antonio Olivo Tribune reporter December 27, 2009 When Peter Aldeza first arrived in Illinois from the Philippines, he filed U.S. Immigration paperwork to allow his older brother and sister to join him. That was 26 years ago. Just last month, his sister, Sionie Sales, finally arrived to live in the U.S., in what has been a bittersweet reunion of once-close siblings now trying to become reacquainted. She was an exuberant 26-year-old when he left home. She is a grandmother now. "It has been very interesting and very fulfilling," said Aldeza, 48, his voice cracking with emotion. "She's a lot older, but very much the same." Their story embodies the experience of thousands of families waiting on a legal Immigration process bogged down by delays, a frustration that lies at the heart of renewed efforts to reform the U.S. Immigration system. A bill introduced in Congress by Democratic lawmakers this month seeks a "promotion of family unity" by placing a high priority on eliminating backlogs for legal Immigration -- which activists say contribute to the country's problems with illegal Immigration. They say some prospective immigrants, frustrated by the delays, find a way into the country illegally. Among the changes proposed under the bill is a provision to exempt immediate relatives from the annual cap on immigrant visas for a given country. That would have the effect of speeding up the process for everyone else in line. Conservative groups seeking to limit all forms of Immigration have long opposed family pipelines, arguing that letting more people into the U.S. would place extra burdens on schools and other infrastructure. For Sales, 52, the process began when she was a young nursing student eager to leave her poverty-stricken island in the Southeast Pacific Ocean to be with her younger brother in the U.S. The two share fond childhood memories of swimming in the hot springs near their home in the outskirts of Manila, venturing into the capital as young adults and, above all, teaming up in playful fights against their older brother, David, now 54. His application to come to the U.S. is still pending. With adulthood came the desire for greater opportunity -- something in short supply for many who are perpetually struggling in the Philippines, the siblings said. Because Aldeza was born in the U.S. -- when their parents briefly worked in Chicago as medical students -- he was qualified to immediately sponsor his siblings' applications. Sales recalled being thrilled by the idea of coming to the U.S. "I really wanted to work here," she said. However, as the years went by with no word about her application, the excitement faded into a vague hope, she said. Over time, what was once a strong family bond became frayed by the distance, with Aldeza traveling back to the Philippines for just two short visits during the last two decades as he raised his family here. Sales married and had two children of her own. "We kept in touch through letters, pictures and by the telephone," mostly when family news was to be delivered, such as when children and grandchildren were born and when their parents died several years ago, Aldeza said. Finally, in June 2008, a letter to Sales from the U.S. government arrived out of the blue, confirming that her Immigration application had been processed and approved. "I was overjoyed and excited, but at the same time worried because I may not be able to work now," said Sales, who took more than a year to decide that after all that time, she still wanted to come. "I'm already 52 years old. I haven't worked for a long time." As she adjusts to her new surroundings -- particularly the frigid Midwestern winters -- Sales said she is preparing to begin anew by studying for entrance exams for nursing school here. With much of the Philippines still wracked by poverty -- exacerbated by two typhoons in October that killed about 1,000 people and caused $4.4 billion in damages -- Sales also is trying to bring her children and three grandchildren to the U.S. "I've sent their papers to the visa center, but (U.S. Immigration officials) have not yet answered," she said, adding that she hopes the process won't again be filled with delay. "I want them to be with me here." http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/chi-family-reunited-25-dec27,0,7575783.story

Yes, both the F-3 (married children) and F-4 (siblings) category should be eliminated. I'd also place severe restrictions on parents due to medical issues related to older people. We can't care for our own elderly as things stand now.

Education has always been a good choice of investment, and learning should be a lifetime commitment. Getting a good education may be tricky though. If you are going to study in the Philippines, choose accredited/prestigious schools. For example: UP, Ateneo or UST. Also depends on the course/vocation you choose so do more research on this. The tuition may be higher but they are far cheaper than any schools in USA. And yes...going back to school also means investing time and can be daunting. You got to go back to having the discipline of studying, researching, taking notes, memorizing, preparing for examinations, etc. You may feel awkward at first with most of your classmates many years younger than you. But I dont think this will be problem at all, I have classmates in college that were older than our professors. Other courses in demand in the states I think are: physical therapists, occupational therapists, accountants, teachers, etc.
2 :
have you ever heard of somebody regretting going back to school?
3 :
This is the first time I heard someone complaining that her or his life is getting no where in the States. Since you told us here your life is not getting ahead or feeling worried for the future. Everybody is feeling worried now a days because of the recession period we are experiencing at the moment globally speaking. You are contemplating on embarking in a study period in the Philippines. Why you didn't graduated yet you work & live in the States? Although nursing course is globally in demand esp. medical profession because I too believe every where in the world people are getting sick, living much longer than they should be and obviously required nursing care. That is were doctors and nurses are in demand world wide. It required most of your time, well if you have time and of course money to go with it then try nursing. It is not what you want or need it is what the world dictates that is why you are embarking to take up nursing. Well in the end I think you will not be happy. Most people I know of tried the profession they think they will be happy. Being paid for what they love to do and do it for the sake of doing it. If you love people then be a sales person or sales representative. If you love to write then be a journalist or something else. Why end up to be a nurse some day? There are other courses in demand. Culinary arts is one of them, end up to be a chef. Why not? Chef are obviously in demand anywhere. Because people eat all the time, and like to taste everything that is good and tasty. Well if I were you I rather end up to be a chef. But as I said I am not like you. We are all different from one another. Different stroke for different folks. It is all up to you whatever you want as long as you feel you will be happy being paid doing it.

Do I have a chance to pass UPCAT
Do I have a chance to pass UPCAT?
I chose UP Diliman as my 1st choice and UP Manila as my 2nd choice. I chose Molecular Biology & Genetic Engineering as my 1st choice in UPD and Food Technology as my 2nd choice. In UPM, my first choice is Occupational Therapy and my 2nd choice is Nursing. Anyway, which of those courses are easy to get through? I answered 275 items out of 295 in UPCAT. Science part is hard, half of my answers there are guesses. I have an average grade of 93.333333 from 1st year to 3rd year. Can I pass? I'm anxiously waiting for the UPCAT results. TT_TT

I'm gonna say that probably food technology would be easier to get into compared to Molecular Biology& Genetic Engineering. as for UPM, I'm not sure. Well. Answering 275 questions out of 295 doesn't really give any assurance that you will pass, especially since you said that half of your science answers are guesses. Your average seems to be pretty high. But you should keep praying that you'd pass. :)

Is it legal to revoke one's license when you did a crime 3 years ago when you were just a student
Is it legal to revoke one's license when you did a crime 3 years ago when you were just a student?
Good Day! I would like to ask for your legal advise. 3years ago, I won an essay writing contest while I was a 3rd year student (1st sem) at a university here in Manila. I copied most of the 6page essays from an internet source which I can't remember what site anymore. I didn't expect to win in the first place, but my motive of course was to use the money to pay for my tuition. Now,the university called me up and made me talk to the assistant dean of the college of nursing telling me that I made a crime. They found out the plagiarized work because the winning essays from that year up to the present will be published. Then they let me talk to the organizer of the would be published book telling me that my piece will not be included anymore. I said sorry to him because I was close to him when I was still a student. I also asked if the author of that article I copied from knows about this, he said of course no, because he is an american professor. They pass the case to the office of student affairs. The ad hoc committee told me my nursing license might be revoked because of my crime. My question is, is it possible that my license will be revoked where in fact I did that essay when I was still a student? What shall I do? Please help. Thanks. First, I did this when I was a student and that this contest has nothing to do with my degree course. I got my license through a national nursing licensure exam which does not ask if you committed a crime or not. Second, I am not yet judged guilty of plagiarism because the university said they will call me for the next hearing this august. third, my friend called me up yesterday telling me that if I will pay back the 20,000 pesos and give back the certificate, the university will drop the case against me because her brother-in-law is the lawyer of FEU who handles my case. I am now wondering where will the money go and how will they revoke my license when in the first place, that essay writing contest has nothing to do with me getting my degree done? Please help. Can someone refer me to a lawyer? Thanks guys! God Bless.

Well, I cannot see how they can revoke your license if the contest had nothing to do with your degree. Now, if the contest was a course to be applied to your degree, then yes, they can revoke it because you technically would not have earned the degree. One thing though, is the university in charge of licenses? If not, then they cannot revoke it regardless, but they can recommend to the Nursing Board that you have your license suspended or whatever
2 :
It can be revoked easily if there was something on your application asking if you have ever committed a crime. I am guessing you said no, because you got the license, but the answer was really yes because of that fraud you did with the essay. Falsifying information on the application will get it revoked no matter how long ago the crime was. At this point, there is nothing you can do except look for another job that doesn't require a valid license.

> My question is, is it possible that my license will be revoked where in fact I did that essay when I was still a student? What shall I do? Please help. Thanks. Maybe it affected your qualifications, maybe not. I can't say about Manila for sure, but do your qualifications include research into your background and your professional ethics? they probably do, and that could be yoru downfall, your achilles heel as it were.

Just questions about what college courses are best to take in the University of the Philippines
Just questions about what college courses are best to take in the University of the Philippines?
Hi.:) I'm an incoming senior student and I'm going to take the UPCAT to get into UP on August. But while i'm filling up the application form, i found out I don't really know what campus I want to get into and even what course I really want. I'm not even sure if I'll pass the exam, I'm just going to start reviewing for it now. But I still hope and pray...I'm running for valedictorian but I'm still nervous and somewhat scared if I can make it, there are lot of people who expects so I'm really pressured and scared I might bring them down.. :( I'm not GOOD in Math, I'm best in History, English and Biology, good in Computer, Music and Arts. My family wants me to be a doctor, and I think I like to be a doctor too. My dream when i was a kid was to be a scientist (with all those chemicals and stuffs) but i'm not so good in Chemistry and Physics sadly so I forget about it. Then, recently, I really want to be an archaeologist. But I know, my family won't let me, the cost of studying it and on finding jobs and getting a good pay on being an archaeologist is really not worth the study. :( Then, I also thought of becoming an artist. But I will not have a stable life there..so i guess i also have to forget about it. I searched the net and found out that the highest paying jobs in the world are the related medical jobs. And I think that's where I should focus since my dream is to be RICH. :p my mom wants me to go to UP Manila since that's where medical courses are offered and that's where my eldest sister studied BS Nursing but personally, I want to go to UP Diliman. I have to decide what I'll take among these 4 courses in UPM: BS Pharmacy BS Biology BS Nursing D Dental Medicine but i also heard about: Covered by a Return Service Agreement so i want to know what it is all about. >and also what courses are best to take in UP Diliman. these questions are just about my indecisiveness and uncertainties. but please help me... ASAP if possible. THANK YOUUUUU so much!!! :D GOD BLESS!

What a coincidence! I'm also taking the UPCAT this August, I'm also not that great in math, I'm also running for valedictorian, and I also dreamed of being a scientist when I was a kid. I also had a bit of difficulty in choosing my course, but now I know what to take. ...Oh yeah, for your questions. First of all, while I know college stuff more or less as much as you do, I do know enough that it doesn't really matter what the best courses are in UPD -- or the whole UP System, for that matter. It's the state university! All the courses are best! I just asked my dad what the Return Service Agreement is, and the best he could tell me was that after you earn your degree, you have to work in the Philippines for around two years before you can go abroad, i.e. you "return" the education they gave you through your "services." As for what course to take, that's your choice to make, mate. Sometimes it's about your personal interests and sometimes it's about how much money you'll make out of that degree, but you have to figure out a way to balance both. I do believe that if you're really good at what you do and work hard, you can make all the money you want. Hope to see you on UPCAT-taking day! (Just look for a girl with unruly hair and red glasses, haha.) :-)

UP Campus change
UP Campus change...............................?
I passed in UP Manila (which I chose because I went for a medical course) but wasn't able to pass the course due to the Nursing quota (meaning my result was "Degree Program with Available Slots") Now I'm thinking of looking for UP Diliman courses which have available slots. Is it allowed or not?

It's gonna be difficult. You chose UP Manila as your first choice so getting to Diliman will be quiet tough. However, you could stay in Manila. After earning 30 units, that's when you could transfer to Diliman. Just make sure you'll get good grades (2.0 GWA would do) in your first year.

calling all british and canadians
calling all british and canadians..!!!!.?
I am 18 year old student from Manila, Philippines. And I'm looking forward to migrate after i graduate (B.S. Information Technology) either U.K or Canada... I even picked my city choice... London(UK) or Toronto (Canada) doing DEEP researches, i concluded myself that it's CANADA. however, i get confused since i start hearing bad thoughts/idea/news about canada's employment. Like here in Canadian embassy in the Philippines, they say Nurses, Caregivers, etc. are "in-demand" in Canada, however there are certain news that depicts jobless migrants in Canada, would it be true? I'm quite bothered, as i started embracing all of Canada, from history, anything about it. please help me, but don't be biased. As an alternative, i'm looking forward to London, however, despite of its big equivalence in to peso, it's the 2nd most expensive city in the world. (next to Moscow). And i promise myself, if i were to live in U.K i'll be in London(any part of part of London) only. And they say high salary in London, hence high taxes, so its just the same. please help! please help. for canadians or british out there.

Actually both things you heard are true but if you are well educated it won't be a problem. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.asp

I believe it would be best for you to move here as a foreign student and graduate from one of our schools. Yes we have many qualified citizen here who can not work because their diplomas are not recognized here. I know a dentist from India who works in sales, a journalist from Lebanon who drives taxis and a young woman cleaning house even though she has a master degree in Accounting. Be aware of all the facts before leaving your life behind.

There is a lack of skilled labour in many areas. However, there are a lot of restrictions on international qualifications. Many professionals (even from the US), have to go through requalification/ retraining. Some specialists have to practically go through all of their schooling. This is a major problem in the health industry. If you want to move to Canada, double check on what is recognized, or how to get your qualifications recognized. Try checking with the professional associations for your profession. They will probably have resources or be able to point you in the right direction.

I want to go to medical school in the Philippines with a biology minor
I want to go to medical school in the Philippines with a biology minor...?
Right now I am a sophomore in a nursing program an American school with one more class to take before I enter the actual nursing program. I want to complete my nursing courses here and then take the board in the U.S. However, I am also interested in doing a minor in biology during the summer in between my regular nursing classes. Once I am done, I am hoping to apply to medical school in the Philippines. Will there be any problem with my plan? Is there anything I need to expect? How long will it take? I am a Fil-Am with a uncle and auntie living in Manila so living arrangements should be taken care of. Unfortunately I do not know much tagalog, but I hope that I will learn during my time there. I am hoping to attend the school, 'Our Lady of Fatima University'. I am sorry about the grammer mistakes!
