Did u know that 2,200 Filipino nurses are needed in Belgium?
I just received word from a friend in Belgium that 2 - yes only 2 - Filipino nurses - one man and a woman - just started to work at a hospital in Antwerp. According to the media, there are thousands of nurses needed over the entire Belgian territory. These two have given a very good impression and now the country is seeking more Filipino nurses. Spread the word. The Belgian embassy in Manila will be happy to assist u with a visa : http://www.diplomatie.be/Manila/ Yes, within two years immigrants have to learn Dutch or French once in Belgium but classes are free and widely available. The visa is good for all EU countries.

That would be great if that is true.

Most countries are short nurses. Australia is critically short of nurses. Canada is critically short of nurses. The u.s is critically short. Britain is short of nurses. Belgium is look for well trained medical staff that can also speak the language. Like most western countries, Belgium is not looking for any joe off the street - they are looking for quality staff. If you want to 'spread the word' - also say that the staff need to be well trained.

That's nice of you to think others but you also forgot to mention that Belgium has three official languages used: Dutch (official) 60%, French (official) 40%, German (official) less than 1%, legally bilingual (Dutch and French). Probably that's the reason why you won't see a lot of Filipino nurses working in Belgium because of the language difficulty from reading, writing and speaking.

I don`t think Belgium is looking for nurses who are specifically Filipino. A lot of other countries have nursing shortages too. It`s just that the language difference makes it harder for Belgium to attract foreign nurses.
